Fairy forest

I look out the window over my garden. Of course now it is December and the outdoor temperatures have dropped to 12 below this morning. That is the perks of living in a house over 100 yrs old and still having a couple of original windows intact....Jack Frost can practice his artwork on the glass. So, instead of a green lush garden view I have that of a little fairy forest to enjoy

Backyard feeding

I watched through the screen of my back door the frenzy of feeders at my cone flowers

Morning of restlessness

A very early Sunday morning walk
It was just my dog and I.
Peaceful, quiet.
My mood was one of exhaustion from the day before.
Restlessness I couldn't put a finger on.
On the edge of tears, clinging to some hope

Lovin the ferns

Mr. Duck

I was happy to catch Mr. Duck sunning one early morning. They are usually so skiddish and fly off before I can even focus the camera.

Fewer and fewer eagles hanging around. On my walk yesterday I only spotted five.

Early spring frost

Nothing prettier than a cold morning when you know spring is almost here. Knowing the temperatures will warm up, melt the frost into drips on the prairie

Eagles have landed

I am blessed to live in an area that birds fancy when migrating through in the early spring. Right now the eagles are gracing us here in Cedar Falls Iowa with their majestic presence.

S*Man

My little S*man making his way around the garden. We have had some really cold days. Even he is looking for some warmth.

Grounded sunset

A late evening walk is sometimes just as rewarding as the early morning one

Anticipation

I was so excited when I heard the forecast of heavy fog and cold temps over night. As I fell to sleep I dreamed of where I would go first in the morning to capture the anticipated hoar frost. Sigh. It did not get cold enough but still, I was able to capture a soft frost in the early morning light.
